The Total Package consists of several types of coaching, including live collaborative sessions, written draft feedback, email support, and video messaging.
The exact arrangement of these support mechanisms will vary some, as each package is customized to the needs of the individual client, but a typical progression would look like:
You complete a pre-meeting questionnaire.
Initial One-on-One meeting: we'll begin brainstorming and I will "interview" you to discover stories and insights that you might not have thought of.
We'll meet again to plan the essay and start putting pieces in place.
You'll write a rough draft of the essay, which I'll review. I'll give written feedback, video response, or both. You'll continue working on the rough draft.
We'll meet again to go over the draft and make any necessary big-picture changes.
You will revise the draft, which is getting much closer to complete, and I'll review it.
We'll meet again to go through the draft line by line, making style edits to strengthen and tighten the piece as it nears completion.
We'll meet one more time to finalize the piece and work on supplemental essays for one school (additional schools' supplementals can be added for a discounted hourly rate).
Note: The core purpose of the Common App essay (or any admissions essay) is to show college admissions officers who you really are in your real voice. So, although I will support you through every step of the writing process, I will not be writing the essay for you.
